Unlike many towns on the western side of Malaga, Nerja has developed slowly and avoided dense high-rise development, preserving the character of the old town. It is a 15 minute walk to the town centre, where the Balcon de Europa provides a focal meeting place for locals and holidaymakers alike. Other villages worth visiting are Maro, where the Nerja Caves are located, and Frigiliana, a restored Roman town. |
