Casita Loma is a large villa with many terraces and patio areas with al-fresco dining facilities., All four bedrooms have an en-suite.
On the upper (driveway) level is the entrance hall, lounge, dining room, kitchen, one double and one twin room, each with luxury bathrooms. The third twin room and the studio are on the lower (pool) level which can be reached by internal spiral stairs or the external steps. The studio has twin-beds, a lounge with settee and double sofa bed, kitchenette, and its own independent entrance.
The villa's mulitiple terraces and patios allow one to find unruffled peace - even from each other!
Casita Loma occupies 3000 square meters (about one acre) of a large private hillside a couple of minutes away (and out of sight of) the Mijas Golf complex. The villa is not overlooked, the nearest neighbour being below and well screened with trees. Exploring Andalucia is made easy with access time to the N340 (Costa) freeway about 9 minutes, and to the main E15 motorway (high speed toll road) about 12 minutes.
Children are welcome, but should really be over eight years as there are spiral stairs and stone steps.
There is easy parking and turning for cars in the wide driveway.
The pool has steps and slopes from about 1m to 2m depth over about 8m length. There are five isolated patio areas each with table and seating for six. Additionally there is the 'sunken' patio below the pool, the terracotta tiled 'barbeque' north patio, the 'top' patios above the villa, and the 'secret' garden. Nine areas to quitely read a book!
For winter guests there is electric heating, and an open gas fire in the lounge. All water heating is by electric immersion heaters.
The popular coastal towns of FUENGIROLA and BENALMADENA are within a short drive, MARBELLA and PUERTO BANUS are about 20 minutes away, GIBRALTAR 1½ hours and SEVILLE 2½ hours. MIJAS PUEBLO is a 15 minute drive up the mountain, most enchanting with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. There are carriage rides and donkey trips around the narrow streets. A large supermarket is about 5 minutes drive away towards Fuengirola where most requirements are available.
The Mijas Golf Course is just a few minutes walk from the villa providing excellent facilities and has two superb 18-hole courses. There are very many other Championship Golf Courses along the coast, all within 10 – 45 minutes drive. The Lew Hoad Tennis Club, horse riding, go karting and Mijas Aqua Park are all within 10 minutes drive. For winter visitors the Sierra Nevada ski slopes are a 2-hour drive away. |
